GEAR to Play Wheelchair Basketball
April 22, 2017 –
Girls Enabled And Ready (G.E.A.R) to Play
This girls-only wheelchair basketball clinic is for players of all ages and abilities looking to play in a welcoming, low-intensity, and social environment. Basketball and basketball-related skills will be practiced with emphasis on fun! No experience required!
GEAR to Play clinics are held in various locations throughout the wheelchair basketball season (typically October - May). Sessions are led by coach Christina Swett with the help of various female athlete mentors.
This particular session will be taking place during the 2017 CWBL Women's National Championship. Participants are encouraged to arrive early or stick around after the clinic to watch some of the best women's wheelchair basketball teams in the country! Additional sport chairs will be available to those not possessing their own.
The OWSA's Gear to Play program is made possible by a Seed grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, which is an agency of the Government of Ontario.
